Graybeard Messages from our friends ....

We have received so many thank you letters throughout the years. If you would like to donate or help our friends in need, we have put a few of the contacts at the end of each message.
Greetings from Mary Immaculate - Kiamumbi. Thank you very much for the very beautiful book bags that you sent to our helpless children in Kenya. We shall never forget your good deed and thought. The parents and guardians for these pupils have sent their words of appreciation. PO Box 65538 Nairobi, Kenya
Thank you once again for your generous help at Thanksgiving to our parish. Thanks to the hard work of the Graybeards so many families in far Rockaway were able to have a Happy Thanksgiving. In Christ, Fr. James K. Cunningham, Pastor of St. Mary, Star of the Sea RCC.,1920 New Haven Avenue, Far Rockaway, NY 11691
Thank you for taking the the time to help us with our September 11th "Year Three Report". We could not have done this without you and your story. Your community is in my thoughts and prayers as we mark the 3rd Anniversary of that day.. While the pain of losing friends is still very present in my life, it is a great comfort knowing that people like your organization, the Graybeards are helping those most deeply affected by the tragedies, Thank you again for all you continue to do. All the best, Lauren Connolly, Robin Hood Foundation |

Words can not express our appreciation for the wonderful gift you all gave Christopher. Seeing him be independent has truly proven that our prayers and wishes have been granted. You are angels that helped him yet again conquer another obstacle, in which he faced. There are not enough ways to say thank you ....

Thank you for your generous support of the Buckley-Kennedy 5K Charity Run that benefited HeartShare.

Enclosed please find another example of the "American Spirit" of generosity. The Bennett cousins and friends had a lemonade sale on Saturday in Breezy Point. Many people bought lemonade and many more just donated money to this very worthy cause to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. We hope this check for $140.36 helps.

I've enclosed a check for $100 to help the fund-raising for the Special Olympics. Words (at least mine) can't explain how touched I was by the beautiful gift basket you sent during a very difficult time. I've always been proud of the work you do. W. Roberts
I don't know where to begin to express my enormous gratitude to you, Don and all those associated with the Graybeards Organization. You and your organization were instrumental in getting our school back up and running. Since we re-opened our doors .... I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from so many since the hurricane and that has been the true blessing for me from the storm. Rodney ... St. Thomas the Apostle, Long Beach, Mississippi
How can we ever thank you and your group for your assistance in expanding our dressing room in the Post Theater Your members removed an ancient boiler and installed a new floor across the entire back section of the theater; thereby tripling our dressing room space. In addition, some of your members painted our stage floor and others plants new flowers and trees outside the theater. We are grateful that you chose our theatre company for your large group spring event ..... John Gilleece, Artistic Director, Rockaway Theatre Company, PO Box 398 Fort Tilden, NY 11695

Thank you for your generous and heartfelt donation of $5,000. In this time of disaster it is so wonderful to have the support of the community to help firefighters and their families that were personally affected by the fire.

My club wishes to acknowledge the dedication and Pride that your organization shares with the Rockaway Community. Your organization helps make Rockaway a "Special" and "Unique" community. To this we say, "Thank you and a "job well done!" Barbara Morris, Rockaway Rotary
Thank you so much for your generous donation of $50,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project. I cannot thank you enough for your support of the truly deserving thousands of men and women that are wounded in our current military conflicts. John Melia, Exec. Director WWP (woundedwarriorproject.org)
This was absolutely the best weekend I've had since being injured. The Rockaway and Breezy Point communities are full of beautiful people who couldn't have done any better had they tried. I think our new friendship (with our host family) will last a lifetime! The way it all worked couldn't have been better. Thank you for this opportunity! SSG John Borders and wife Mollie |
